The Horizon Europe-funded MSCA Doctoral Network project CLEXM consortium has held its first in-person events; a Project Steering & Supervisory Board (PSSB) meeting and a Training Event for Doctoral Network Candidates (DNCs). These two events were co-organised by SiriusXT and UCD and were held on the UCD campus, in Belfield, Dublin.

Our partners brought their A-game and enthusiasm, making the event an incredible success!
Day 1 began with captivating presentations from our doctoral network students, followed by a PSSB meeting and insightful training sessions led by esteemed professionals like Prof. Jez Simpson, Dean of School of Science UCD, Dr Kenneth Fahy, V.P.Product Management of SiriusXT. Participants also had the privilege of touring the Conway Imaging lab under the guidance of Dr Dimitri Scholz, Head of Conway Imaging at UCD, followed by a delightful evening enjoying the charm of Dublin city center over a refreshing pint of Guinness.

Day 2 kicked off with intensive SXT data handling training by Dr. Sergey Kapishikov, Imaging Direct of SiriusXT complemented by engaging introductions to FM and EM techniques by Jez Simpson and Dimitri Schloz.
Dr. Anna Sartori Rupp from Pasteur Institute then led an enlightening session on CLEXM techniques followed by CLEXM applications discussions, empowering our students with invaluable knowledge. 💡

The event wrapped up on Day 3 with enlightening lab tours, giving participants the opportunity to explore the facilities of Prof. Jez Simpson’s lab, Prof Oliver Blaque’s lab, and the SXT lab at UCD.

A huge thank you to all involved for making this event a success! Stay tuned for more updates as we continue our journey of discovery and innovation in the field of CELXM.
